Review: Hamilton SuperBlock SPF 80 Sunscreen

Hello there, Lovelies! I'm back for a new review and  it's all about broad spectrum protection.
Let me introduce to you Hamilton SuperBlock Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Milk SPF 80.

These are the product details:
  • SPF 80
  • Leaves a non-sticky and comfortable feeling
  • No unpleasant or strong smell
  • Excellent skin absorption
  • Gentle milk-based formula
  • Four hours of water/sweat resistance
  • Does not run into eyes
  • Recommended by Dermatologist
Everyone needs a sunblock cream/lotion with high SPF that gives protection from harmful UV rays UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. Sunblock is necessary for us to avoid dark pigmentation of the face such as Melasma, Freckles, Sunspots, uneven skin tone, even to avoid early skin aging and wrinkles.

The Hamilton SuperBlock sunscreen is gentle to the skin because it's milk based formula that suits for all skin types. I've decided to make a review regarding this wonderful sunscreen since I've been using it for 6 Months now, NO breakouts or whatsoever. I bought it from a dermatologist near in my area for Php350 or $US8.

This sunscreen is very light, absorbs the skin fast, has very high SPF which is very important, gives smooth finish feel when applied and non-greasy. This also can be use as treatment to acne scars.

How to use:

Apply liberally and evenly on the unprotected areas of the skin 30 minutes before sun exposure especially between 10 AM to 3PM. Daily application of a sunscreen is recommended as part of a healthy skin regimen.

Ingredients are the following:
[For easy understanding about the ingredients, I've researched from Wikipedia]

4-methylbenzylidene camphor - Is an organic camphor derivative that is used in the cosmetic industry for its ability to protect the skin against UV, specifically UVB radiation.

butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane - It is used as a UVA absorber in sunscreen products. It has been safely and extensively used in cosmetics and sunscreens for decades.

titanium dioxide - Used as a pigment, sunscreen and a thickener. This pigment is used extensively in plastics and other applications not only as a white pigment or an opacifier but also for its UV resistant properties where the powder disperses the light – unlike organic UV absorbers – and reduces UV damage, due mostly to the extremely high refractive index of the particles.

Avobenzone - Is an oil soluble ingredient used in sunscreen products to absorb the full spectrum of UVA rays. Its ability to absorb ultraviolet light over a wider range of wavelengths than many other sunscreen agents has led to its use in many commercial preparations marketed as "broad spectrum" sunscreens.

Octinoxate - or Octyl methoxycinnamate. Absorb UV-B rays from the sun, protecting the skin from damage. It is also used to reduce the appearance of scars.Often used as an active ingredient in sunscreens combined with oxybenzone and titanium oxide.

Traveling in Style: Part 2 (Airplane) Outfit and Makeup

I'm considering Singapore and Philippines' climate and weather that is why I wore light fabric. It's warm and humid all year round in Singapore though in Philippines the wet season already started but still not that cold.

I've decided to wear a jumpsuit (no bathroom troubles so far) and flat shoes. This jumpsuit is very soft, I brought my leather jacket since it's freezing in airport and finish my look with dangling earrings and spiky bangles to look more edgy.

Makeup: I use BB Cream and powder from Maybelline, Barbie Pink lipstick and gloss, Volumizing and lengthening mascara, Kohl Black Eyeliner all from BYS

Got a nice view

Comfortable chevy print jumpsuit

Aura aura aura :)

My super cool earrings and jacket

Spiky bangles

It's Christmas time! Merry Christmas!!!

Style inspiration: Sweet Modern Bohemian

Click here to see My style inspiration of the week: SWEET MODERN BOHEMIAN

Circle skirts with pleats are my obsession. Skirts these days are playful, colorful, have different textures and its length adds more character into them. I always feel young, luxurious, hip and edgy when I’m wearing skirt. I love colorful floral prints and very light skirts.

My brother (Kuya Wilson), sister-in-law (Ate Tin), younger sister (Queen) and I went to see a movie yesterday (Insidious Chapter 2) and this is the outfit I wore.

Solid color blouse: I love print on print ensemble but this time I want to pair my printed skirt with a solid color blouse. I opt a peasant long sleeve chiffon blouse in cobalt blue, featuring a lace-up yoke with cutout shoulders. Square neckline, long sleeves with elasticized ends. Semi-sheer and very lightweight.

Espadrille Wedges : I'm wearing a strappy faux leather wedge sandals which has 3 inches back heel height and very comfortable for me to walk in.

Beret: I always say yes to hats especially cashmere and crochet beanies. I love beanies that I saw on runway in Alexander Wang and Erin Fetherston fashion shows.
People wear them all year round and you can wear them with anything.  This time, I'm wearing a special beret because it's from my sister. =)

Makeup: I put it into a habit to avoid too much makeup so I normally use powder, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick.

Remember: ALWAYS add a doze of confidence and I'm sure you can rock anything you wear.

Please comment below and share your style ideas in wearing circle skirts.

Thank you for visiting my blog! ^_^

Review: In2it Line define Liquid Eyeliner

I’m not a brand conscious when it comes to makeup. I always get excited whenever I see eyeliners and definitely In2it has become a brand of makeup that I’m excited to explore.

In2it is a makeup brand from Hong Kong and available in three countries (Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand). The brand is particularly famed for eyeliners, eye color and blush. In2it products are formulated for Asian skin using ingredients from Japan and Europe.

I've had color liquid eyeliner in turquoise, pink and violet before I tried their black line define sparkling eyeliner. I've always looking for black liquid eyeliner that will suit my skin type. I've tried so many eyeliners from different brands and I absolutely love In2it’s line define liquid eyeliner.

The product claims to be:
  • Super long wearing
  • Waterproof
  • Dries in 60 seconds
  • Has shiny finish
  • No smudging or panda eyes
  • No fragrance
  • Easy to apply and remove

In2it offers a collection of waterproof eyeliners, their sales consultant was very helpful and knowledgeable because she asked me what I was looking for in eyeliner. I replied, I would like very black liquid eyeliner without glitters or shimmer. She hand over me two eyeliners, one in matte finish and the other is in shiny finish. Of course I got excited with shiny finish and I thought it was like more of wet look eyeliner. Yay!

It’s indeed a very black shade and no shimmer or glitter plus it dries quickly in shiny finish as the product claims. The application is very smooth too and the nylon brush is thin which you can create good lines without any problems. It gets dried for about a minute or two wherein on the box it says it dry within 60 seconds. It stayed the whole day on my lids. I have a dry lids so I’ve tried to test this product to my cousin, she have an oily lids; just to make sure if it will stay intact the whole day – well, it did!

Likes:

  • Very long wearing
  • Very black liquid eyeliner
  • No smudging, flaking or cracking
  • No incident of stinging/burn feeling on my skin or eyes
  • No fragrance
  • It applies smoothly
  • Thin applicator is amazing which I can create fine lines with its thin brush
  • Affordable price: Php 389.75 (comes with FREE Colour liner)
  • Available in variety of department stores, health and beauty stores, hypermarkets and supermarkets, but not sold on line.

Dislike:

A bit hard to remove which takes about 5 wipes of makeup remover to take it all of

Review: Xtreme Arbutin Serum Skin Illuminator

After my skin got a bad reaction to Neutriderm, I switched to Xtreme Arbutin Serum.

My Mom already tried a lot of skin lightening products and she gave me an advise to try Extreme Arbutin Serum after she saw my frustrations with Neutriderm. She have tried both products and she didn't have any allergic reactions. After a couple of weeks, I saw huge difference to her face.

My Mom has beautiful – young looking skin. That’s why I’m convinced to give it a try. I am aware that we have different skin types and products that are good for you may not be good for me but I just want to find out whether Extreme Arbutin Serum will deliver same positive results. This Serum cost Php2,000.00.

Let’s get to the review.

It is a serum-treatment for blemished skin. It whitens and brightens skin which also removes any stain on the skin caused by pigmentation. It is natural and dermatologically tested.
This product composed of Arbutin, licorice extract, shea butter and kojic acid used as a skin lightening agent. Also added in the ingredient is tocopherol (Vitamin E) as a natural antioxidant and Vitamin C.
I’m using the product every morning before I apply my BB Cream and powder and at night before bedtime. You’ll not get an oily skin because Extreme Arbutin Serum does not contain mineral oils and it immediately absorbs the serum.

From my daily application of the serum morning and evening on the area requiring treatment, I've noticed the reduction of my "very few" blemishes. It did not happened overnight, okay?  The reduction of my blemishes took about a week to fade. It may depends on how too many blemishes you have on your face. My face only have few blemishes due to sun exposure. Since there are many different types of blemishes with many different causes, the treatment for each is a little different. This product solved my skin blemishes issue in no time.

I don't have a close up photo of myself  before I use Extreme Arbutin Serum since the blemishes on my face are only few, it's not that obvious but I don't like these dark spots stay there forever.

I have my most recent photo taken May 26, 2013. I only wore pink blush on, pressed powder and lipstick. I'm proud to say that I do not need to wear BB Cream or foundation and even concealer.

Inner beauty

Does anyone of you can measure beauty, strength, love, purpose in life or talent?

I cannot measure any items mentioned above. These days, it seems so hard to define the real meaning of beauty. It looks like the society, country and media has a strong influence to people. The classification and standard of beauty among others have been lift from having a fair skin, being thin and young. Some countries have affected their beliefs in being beautiful, young women are getting obsess with thin body, fair skin but in some other countries they like tanned skin, curvy body and that’s how they define beauty. So in every country and culture it varies the meaning of 'beautiful'.

Young women nowadays are pressured to conform to a certain ideal beauty and body standards. Tons of people go overseas to get plastic surgery just to make them look more attractive, thinner and young.

Physical beauty is really good but if you get obsessed being too beautiful, thin and young; try to change your looks just too “fit in” to the society you want to get somewhere is too much to handle.

I stand 5 feet and 4 inches tall but honestly, I kept on concealing my insecurities regarding my height. I really want to get taller like 5’9” so what I did is I drink herbal teas, supplements but as I get older, I've learned to accept the fact that there’s no way I could get taller than 5’4”. Since my Mother only stands 5 feet and my Father is at 5’7”, so the better solution is acceptance. J

One more thing, there came a time that I felt so unattractive because of my weight, I look too thin. To the point I don’t want to look in the mirror. I've realized that my insecurity hit again then I taught myself the word acceptance – AGAIN. J It’s just a cycle you know, felt sad and insecure then learn to accept because the truth is WE ARE BEAUTIFUL in our own ways. As they say, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Stop searching validation of beauty and social acceptance.

Your appearance is not a reflection of who you are. Live your life because you are beautiful!

Review: Maybelline Watershine Pure Lipstick in P24

Since the Valentine's Day is quite approaching, I've decided to buy a new lipstick. I’m a pink lipstick kind of girl so I bought the shade P24 from Maybelline, its Watershine Pure lipstick.

The shade is a pink/rose color; it’s sheer and looks natural when you apply it on your lips.
I like the packaging because it’s shiny silver-bluish and it has a cute cover top that you may use as a mirror.

  • The lipstick has a glossy effect without the sticky feel
  •  Feels soft, easy to glide on lips and lips looks healthy
  • Price: Php299. Affordable price for an amazing lipstick

Dislikes
  • It only stays 1-2 hours so I need to re-apply every few hours

Review: Neutriderm Skin Lightening Crème

Before I start with my review on this crème, let me give you some details about the product:

Brand name: Neutriderm
Ingredient: Herbal
Form: Cream
Use: Face
Place of origin: New South Wales, Au

This product caught my attention because I have a small number of freckles on my right cheek and I’m looking for a beauty product that will help reduce or lighten my freckles. Neutriderm Skin Lightening Crème is recommended for the reduction of hyper pigmentation on the face. It helps to decrease the appearance of melasma, freckles and age marks. According to the experts, it is a multifunctional topical antioxidant and is suitable for all skin types. No bleaching agents that is why it is safe to use every day.

I bought the product to my dermatologist for Php 2,500, quite expensive for a small beauty product (50 g) but who cares anyway, I’d love to have my freckles to disappear.  I put a small amount of cream on the area where I have freckles. I did this every night as instructed. After a week, I’ve observed no improvement and my freckles are still visible. My freckles is not that dark, it is light brown and if you’re very keen like me you will easily notice them on my right cheek and it feels terrible. I’m not happy at all since the product promises a quick result. Do I need to wait a month or two to see better results? The worst thing happened to my face that I never expected was I got pimples on my right cheek. So instead of reducing my freckles, this product caused me pimples. After I had breakouts, I gave the crème to my Mom and she used it and she said that she’s very satisfied with the result and honestly she’s a devoted Neutriderm Crème user until now. I consulted my dermatologist and I've learned that I have a VERY SENSITIVE skin. I remember one time when I tried pumpkin peel, it has a cooling effect at first but after few minutes I'm uncomfortable with my face because of sudden irritation and redness caused by the pumpkin. I'm allergic to products that contain herbal and fruit extract.

Now, I'm very careful with the products I use and I see to it before buying, I check the ingredients of that product.

Traveling in Style: (Airplane) Hair, Makeup,Outfit and my carry on essentials

I usually wear these ensemble when traveling: Printed leggings, shorts, Cardigan/scarf, Hat, denims, long sleeves, flat shoes or boots.

Normally when I’m travelling, I wear comfortable clothes like leggings to keep my legs warm. My leggings are made of cotton-polyester-lycra combination. I have a collection of printed leggings. The most important for me in choosing leggings is the fit. I want my leggings to be fitted, stretchable and doesn't restrict any movement.

Denim tube corset: I can wear this as a dress because its 60 cm long. When I want to feel sexier, wearing a soft denim corset is one of my favorite styles and you can never go wrong in pairing your denim dress with any kind of bottoms like the one I did. I’m in love with the lace up drama in the bust area because it plainly adds more size on that section.

Boots: I’m wearing my favorite “travel” boots. It’s a black-tiger fold over wedge boots. It’s made of synthetic leather. What I love about this boots aside from being cheaper than leather one is it’s durable and easy to clean. Because of its simple care routine it ensures a longer life. My feet can handle plastic shoes; I feel the same comfort wearing synthetic leather shoes.

Makeup: I love wearing blue eyeliner from Max Factor and light pink lipstick from Avon. I want to look fresh and natural. I'm just wearing a powder when traveling. No BB Cream or Foundation.

Hair: Here’s a thing, I don't fix my hair that much, I don't comb my hair when wet and usually forget to comb when it dries. I commonly use my hands just to fix my hair. :)

My carry on essentials

includes: toothpaste, toothbrush, feminine wash, facial wash (sachet), wallet, mobile power charger, lipstick, sunglasses and eyeglasses
